The short version
The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We do not use your health information for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Zuvo is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Insights and chat replies are for general wellness information only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about medical questions, and call your local emergency number in an emergency. See our Terms of Use.
We share information only with the service providers we need to run Zuvo, and only for that purpose:
| Who | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting, storage, email and notifications (United States) | The data you store in Zuvo, encrypted at rest |
| AI service providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) | Chat replies, and recognising photos and documents | The content of that request and the context needed to answer it |
| Apple, Google | Sign-in, push notifications, App Store subscriptions | Account and device identifiers, no health data |
| Device providers you connect | Importing your readings | The authorisation needed to fetch the data you approved |
We may also disclose information:
When you use chat or photo and document recognition, the content of that request is sent to OpenAI or Anthropic to generate the response. We are still putting agreements in place with these providers that restrict how long they keep what we send; until then, their own API data policies apply. Our Security page shows the current status.
Data we read from Apple Health is used only to provide Zuvo’s features to you. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to provide the features you use (for example, to generate an insight you asked for). You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States. It is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256). Zuvo is not end-to-end encrypted: to generate your insights, our servers process your data in readable form. Staff access to health data is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure; our Security page describes what we have built and what we have not built yet.
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your records from our live systems. Copies in encrypted backups are removed as those backups expire on their regular schedule. We keep anonymised security and audit records, and information we must keep to meet legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as to know what personal information we hold, to obtain a copy, to correct or delete it, to withdraw consent, and to appeal our decision on a request. This includes residents of California and other US states with privacy laws, and residents of Canada. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. To make a request, email privacy@zuvofit.ai. We may need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorised agent where the law allows.
Some US states, including Washington and Nevada, give you specific rights over consumer health data, including the right to confirm whether we collect, share or sell it, to get a list of the third parties we share it with, to withdraw consent, and to have it deleted. The categories of consumer health data we collect and who receives it are described in sections 1 and 4. We do not sell consumer health data. To exercise these rights, email privacy@zuvofit.ai.
Zuvo is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. If you use Zuvo from outside the United States, including from Canada, your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under US law.
Zuvo is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
